Political analyst Willy Lam tells me: “Given the fact that both sides have so many things not in common, including mutual imposition of sanctions; accusations of hacking; geopolitical contention in South China Sea; Taiwan, Xinjiang and Hong Kong. It's not a meeting to resolve differences.”
